riskmethods / Munich, 28 January 2014 – After the successful market launch of the “Supply Risk Network” Saas solution and the positive response from customers in 2013, riskmethods, technological market leader for risk analysis and monitoring of worldwide supply chains, sees great potential in the new year for further growth in the Central European market. Further expansion of the company in terms of its ambitious technological and economic goals is secured by renowned partners such as Bayern Kapital and Point Nine Capital, who are supporting riskmethods with long-term investments. Business operations in various sectors and companies of all sizes in the last year (2013) surpassed all expectations of the two founders Heiko Schwarz and Rolf Zimmer. Contributing factors here were new customers such as OSRAM, Belimo and PARI, a solid personnel structure as well as flexible and ongoing adaptation of the software solution to the requirements of customers and the market. On a scientific basis, the Supply Risk Network SaaS solution is accompanied by a research partnership with Prof. Willi Muschinski from the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.
“riskmethods GmbH can look back on a successful initial business year: this is confirmed by the excellent feedback on our numerous test and customer installations”, explains Rolf Zimmer, Managing Director at riskmethods. The positive response to the ‘Supply Risk Network’ Saas solution extends across all sectors and affects companies of all sizes. Besides SMEs in the medical technology sector, such as PARI, riskmethods is now also providing support for medium-sized companies in the electronics and automation sectors, such as Belimo, right up to industrial groups, such as OSRAM, as well as prestigious automobile manufacturers.”
“In order to provide our customers with the best possible support and to expand the business, we have employed personnel in the areas of customer service, risk research, development and marketing”, continues Zimmer. Furthermore, investors Bayern Kapital and Point Nine will spend close to one million euros to promote further business development, as riskmethods aims to continue growing in the Central European area in the coming year.
riskmethods’ success is based on the sound methods of the “Supply Risk Network”, which enables customers to monitor and analyse risks along the supply chain. “For this, we monitored more than 4000 suppliers and over 4500 locations around the clock within a year, and identified more than 30,000 risks for these”, elaborates Heiko Schwarz, Managing Director at riskmethods.
In addition, the aim is to continue expanding the service portfolio on an ongoing basis. “Besides our risk radar, we are working on new modules for determining potential impact so as to be able to analyse the ascertained risk in a substantiated manner. Our customers require support in terms of action plan management, which will provide them with procedure models for risk prevention and risk reduction, as well as best practice guidance. Moreover, this allows determination of the effects of possible risk potential and the extent of damages “, says Schwarz. This extension will include simulation components that will not only calculate but also visualise alternative risk scenarios. “This means that in the event of loss or where decisions are pending concerning new supplier contracts or supply paths, a mere drag and drop is required to make plans quickly, easily and conveniently, and with minimal risk exposure”, adds Zimmer.
Prof. Willi Muschinski from the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Mönchengladbach has come on board to assist with the scientific evaluation. Muschinski will be supporting the “Supply Risk Network” methodology in the areas of impact determination and action management as part of a research project: “Analysis of risk management processes in companies has shown that information acquisition for markets and suppliers in particular represents a sensitive area in supply risk management. This is where riskmethods comes in, namely by systematically evaluating databases and Internet news and providing companies with this current data that is so critical for success”, adds Muschinski.
As a result, new, additional scientific data and results are gleaned on the topic of risk management. “This is why we are delighted to be working together with the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences”, says Schwarz and adds “we see great added value in this collaboration! In this way, we can derive innovations and new approaches from research, then combine these with practical customer requirements and ultimately provide the market with tailor-made solutions.”
