In the following, we will inform you about the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data. Personal data is generally all data that can be related to you personally, e.g. name, address, e-mail addresses, user behaviour. You can access this information at any time in our riskmethods app. This information relates to the use of the service via smartphone, tablet or Apple TV and the processing of your personal data involved as well as information about your rights. This information can be accessed at any time in the riskmethods app.
Personal information is any information that personally identifies you, such as your name, address, email address, and user behaviour.
General Information on Data Processing
We collect and use your personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional app as well as our content and services. The collection and use of your personal data is regularly only carried out with your consent. An exception applies in those cases in which it is not possible to obtain prior consent for actual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by statutory provisions.
Your personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. In addition, storage can take place if this has been provided for by European or national legislators in EU regulations, laws or other regulations to which riskmethods GmbH is subject as the controller. The data will also be blocked or erased if a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned standards expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data.
Provision of the App and Creation of Log Files
The following data is always stored in a log file when the riskmethods app is used:
- Operating system used
- version used
- IP address
- manufacturer and type designation, if any, of the smartphone, tablet or other terminal
- date and time of access / log files
The purpose of the processing of the data is the provision of the app, error analysis and clarification of IT security attacks.
Legal basis for the processing is either the performance of a contract pursuant to Art. 6 para 1 lit. b GDPR or our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para 1 lit. f GDPR. As part of the weighing of interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, we have considered and weighed our interest in the provision of the riskmethods app and your interest in processing your personal data in compliance with data protection regulations. Since the aforementioned data is generally technically necessary for the provision of our service, in order to be able to offer the functions of our riskmethods app and also to guarantee the stability and security, in particular to offer protection against misuse, we have come to the conclusion that this data can be processed – with a state-of-the-art guarantee of data security – whereby your interest in processing in conformity with data protection is given due consideration.
The log files will be deleted 7 days after their collection.
When downloading the mobile app, information is also transferred to the respective App Store. We have no influence on this data collection and are not responsible for it.
Registering for the riskmethods App
After successful authentication you will receive a personal access to our app. You can log in with your access data. Access will be set up for you when you sign up with riskmethods.
We process your e-mail address and your password when you register for our app. The processing serves your authentication. The legal basis is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. We store your e-mail address until the riskmethods app is deleted from your device. We don’t store the password.
Matomo (formerly Piwik)
In the app we use the analysis service Matomo (formerly Piwik) to analyze and regularly improve the use of our app. The following data is processed when the riskmethods app is used:
- IP address (will be anonymised before storage)
- Device-related data, such as device type, model operating system, browser type, and version
- Usage-related information, such as time of use and duration
The statistics obtained will enable us to improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user by an optimisation of the presentation of the website and adaptation of the content. The legal basis therefor is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Disclosure of Personal Data / Recipients
Your data will only be passed on to affiliated companies and service partners if they are active on our behalf and support riskmethods GmbH in providing our services. Your personal data will be processed by commissioned service providers within the framework of order processing pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
The aforementioned service providers only receive access to such personal information that is necessary for the performance of the respective activity. These service providers are prohibited from passing on your personal information or using it for other purposes, in particular for their own advertising purposes.
Insofar as external service providers come into contact with your personal data, we have taken legal, technical and organisational measures as well as regular checks to ensure that they also comply with the applicable data protection regulations.
There will be no further transmission to third parties.
A commercial transfer of your personal data to other companies does not take place.
We have taken extensive technical and operational precautions to protect your data from accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. Our security procedures are regularly reviewed and adapted to technological progress.
